This Cookie Policy explains how Fenchurch Compliance, a service provided by RegTechPRO Limited ("Fenchurch Compliance", "we", "us", "our"), uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website (www.fenchurchcompliance.co.uk) and use our platform (app.fenchurchcompliance.co.uk). It sets out what these technologies are, why we use them, and how you can control them.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, tablet or mobile) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, to provide a better experience, and to give website operators useful information about how their site is being used.

How cookies work

When you visit our website, our server sends a cookie to your device. Your browser stores it and sends it back to us each time you return. This lets us recognise your device and remember things such as your preferences and whether you are signed in.

Similar technologies

As well as cookies, we may use similar technologies, including:

  • Web beacons (also called pixel tags or clear GIFs) — small images embedded in web pages or emails that record whether content has been viewed.
  • Local storage — data kept in your browser that persists after you close it. Our platform uses local storage to remember a device you have signed in on, so you are not prompted for a new one-time email code every visit.
  • Session storage — data kept in your browser that is cleared when you close the tab or window.

For simplicity, we refer to all of these technologies collectively as "cookies" in this policy.

Types of cookies

Cookies can be categorised in several ways.

By duration

  • Session cookies — temporary cookies that are deleted when you close your browser.
  • Persistent cookies — cookies that remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them.

By source

  • First-party cookies — set by the site you are visiting (that is, Fenchurch Compliance).
  • Third-party cookies — set by another domain, typically by a service we rely on such as our payment provider or our security and hosting provider.

By purpose

We categorise cookies by their purpose as follows:

Essential — required
Necessary for the website and platform to function. They enable core features such as security, sign-in and keeping your session active. You cannot opt out of these cookies while using the service.
Functional — optional
Enable enhanced functionality and personalisation, such as remembering your display preferences. Some functional cookies are set by our payment provider for fraud prevention during checkout.
Analytics — optional
Help us understand how visitors interact with our website. We use a privacy-first, cookieless analytics tool, so we do not currently set analytics cookies; we retain the category here for transparency.
Marketing — optional
Used to track visitors across websites to display relevant advertisements. We do not currently set marketing cookies.

Cookies we use

The table below lists the specific cookies used on our website and platform. Names beginning with an underscore prefix (for example __cf or __stripe) are set by the third-party services described in the next section.

Cookie name Category Purpose Duration
fc_session Essential Keeps you signed in after you verify your one-time email code; only a hash of the underlying token is stored on our servers. Up to 90 days
fc_csrf Essential Protects against cross-site request forgery attacks. Session
fc_cookie_consent Essential Records your cookie consent preferences. 1 year
__cf_bm Essential Set by Cloudflare to distinguish genuine visitors from automated traffic and protect the service. 30 minutes
cf_clearance Essential Set by Cloudflare to record that a security challenge has been passed. Up to 1 year
fc_preferences Functional Remembers your display preferences, such as theme and layout. 1 year
__stripe_mid Functional Set by Stripe for fraud prevention, identifying your device across the checkout. 1 year
__stripe_sid Functional Set by Stripe for fraud prevention during an individual checkout session. 30 minutes

Note: some cookie names include a unique identifier that varies by device or session, so the exact name you see may differ slightly from the name shown above.

Third-party cookies

Some cookies are set by the services we rely on to run Fenchurch Compliance securely. These cookies are governed by the relevant provider's own privacy policy. The providers that may set cookies are:

Security, hosting and performance

  • Cloudflare — provides our hosting, content delivery and web application firewall, and may set essential cookies (such as __cf_bm and cf_clearance) to keep the service secure and available. Cloudflare privacy policy: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

Payments

  • Stripe — processes our subscription payments securely and may set cookies for fraud prevention during checkout. Stripe privacy policy: stripe.com/privacy.

Other providers we use to run the service — our transactional email provider (Postmark) and our AI provider (Anthropic) — operate on our servers and do not set cookies in your browser. The current list of providers is maintained on our sub-processors page.

Embedded content

Our website may occasionally include embedded content (such as a video or a form) from a third party. When you interact with that content, the third party may set its own cookies, over which we have no control. We recommend reviewing the privacy and cookie policies of any such provider.

Managing cookies

Cookie consent banner

When you first visit our website you will see a cookie consent banner that lets you accept or reject optional cookies. You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in our website footer.

Browser settings

Most browsers let you control cookies through their settings. You can typically:

  • see what cookies are stored and delete them individually;
  • block third-party cookies;
  • block all cookies from specific sites;
  • block all cookies from being set; or
  • delete all cookies when you close your browser.

Cookie controls are usually found in the privacy or security area of your browser's settings menu. Popular browsers including Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge each provide their own guidance in their built-in Help. For independent, browser-neutral guidance you can also visit aboutcookies.org or the Information Commissioner's Office guidance on cookies at ico.org.uk.

Important: if you disable essential cookies, parts of our website and platform may not work properly. In particular, you may be unable to sign in or stay signed in.

Opt-out tools

For advertising cookies set by third parties across the web generally, you can manage your choices at youronlinechoices.com. As noted above, we do not currently set marketing cookies ourselves.

Your consent

Under UK law — specifically the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003, as amended — we must obtain your consent before setting any cookies that are not strictly necessary for the operation of our website. Where a cookie is used to process personal data, we also handle that data in accordance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Essential cookies

Essential cookies do not require your consent, as they are necessary for the service to function. We set these cookies automatically when you visit our site.

Optional cookies

For functional, analytics and marketing cookies, we will only set these cookies if you give us your consent through our cookie consent banner. You can withdraw your consent at any time by adjusting your cookie preferences.

Changing your preferences

You can change your cookie preferences at any time by:

  • selecting "Cookie settings" in the website footer;
  • clearing your cookies and revisiting the site, so the consent banner reappears; or
  • adjusting your browser settings as described above.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use, changes in technology, or changes in applicable law.

When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy and, where appropriate, notify you through our website or by email.

We encourage you to review this Cookie Policy periodically to stay informed about how we use cookies.
